I apply Homi Bhabha's postcolonial theory to the emergence and eventual dominance in early Christianity of a particular interpretation of the figure of the eunuch in Matthew , namely 'eunuch' as a metaphor for 'celibate. My argument is exploratory and speculative, but looking at this history through this theoretical perspective can help illuminate some aspects of the history that would perhaps not otherwise be apparent. It can help us focus on the conditions of possibility of various possible interpretations of the verse in the context of early Christianity in the Roman empire.

Using a historical, theological and analytic methods, findings show from available statistics that the rate of divorce is high among the female than the male; that lack of personality understanding before making marriage choices; that an affront by secular humanism undermines the natural establishment of marriage and family.
One of the suggested practical ways to address the situation is that personality development assessment be taken seriously; religious education of the person in the vision of God creator of marriage and family for youths is necessary and urgent. All this is an attempt to redefine marriage and Christian family life as good news for the happiness of the individual and the sanity of our society.
